Junior Bookkeeper / Accounting Clerk

VitalFin is a growing Accounting and Tax-Advice firm situated in Tygervalley, seeking to employ a bookkeeper to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting to manage financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the financial health of our client’s businesses, and ensuring that their accounting records are kept up to date.

Salary: R10,000pm – R15,000pm, experience dependant
Position Start Date: 01 March 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter

Min Qualifications and requirements

Responsibilities

Financial Record-Keeping - Record daily financial transactions accurately in accounting software.
Maintain the general ledger and ensure all entries are properly documented.
Reconcile accounts payable and receivable balance.
Bank Reconciliations - Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records.
Expense Tracking - Monitor and categorize expenses to ensure proper budget allocation.
Assist in preparing expense reports for management review.
Tax Compliance - Prepare and file VAT returns and other tax submissions in compliance with regulations.
Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation.
Payroll Process - Employee payroll, ensuring timely and accurate salary payments.
Prepare payroll tax filings and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Reporting - Generate financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Administrative Support - Assist senior accountants with year-end financial preparations.
Further tasks could include general administration and the assistance of Senior Administrative Staff with regards to our Insurance Business, providing services to Individual Tax Payers.
